Biology YouTube channels

There are many YouTube channels that are both funny, interesting, and engaging when it comes to the subject of biology. One example is the channel “AsapSCIENCE,” which presents scientific information in an entertaining and easily digestible way. Another great channel is “Vsauce,” which explores a wide range of scientific topics in a fun and thought-provoking manner. “Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell” is also a great channel that uses animation to explain complex biological concepts in a simple and entertaining way. “Science is Fun” channel is also a great source of fun and engaging content on biology, with a focus on explaining science in a simple and easy-to-understand way. Additionally, “BioVisions at Harvard” is an excellent channel for those who want to explore the visual side of biology, with a variety of videos that showcase the beauty and complexity of living organisms.

Here are just a few of the many channels you may want to subscribe to if you love Biology. Please note that some of the videos on some of these channels are not all-ages appropriate, so review them for age-appropriate sharing before providing these to your family or student.

  • Journey to the Microcosmos – microbiology, microscopy

  • Deep Look
    • DEEP LOOK is a science video series that explores big science by going very, very small, from KQED and PBS Digital Studios. We use macro photography and microscopy in glorious 4K resolution, to see science up close … really, really close.
  • Crime Pays But Botany Doesn’t – botany
    • (Mature Language/Content) A Low-Brow, Crass Approach to Plant Ecology & Evolution as muttered by a Misanthropic Chicago Italian. We study plants through the lens of ecology and evolution, rather than what supposed anthropocentric uses they can provide (as if holding up the biosphere wasn’t enough).
  • Animalogic

  • Natural World Facts
    • Welcome to Natural World Facts. I’m Leo, a Marine Biology undergraduate student with a passion for the natural world, a fascination with the deep sea, and a dream of working in the field of science-communication. This channel began as a passion project when I was 8 years old. Now, nearly 10 years later, I’m still releasing fortnightly videos documenting a number of natural history topics, and I invite you to join me on my journey to discover all there is to know about our incredible planet.
